Please join us for Walk to School Night on Wednesday, August 25th from 5:15-6:15. This is a great time to see our classroom, put materials away, and meet your teacher! This is also a time to bring lunch money and get settled for the first day. We will be using assignment books during the year. Please bring $3.00 for your student planner. I hope to see you there!

 Our main focus for Spelling will be working on our list of word wall words. The kids will have ten to twelve word wall words to focus on each month. The last Friday of the month they will be tested over those words. I will post the words that we are working on each month. I have posted the list for the entire year as well.

 All students can bring a snack each day. We will eat snack while we have read aloud time in the morning. I would appreciate it if we keep the snacks "healthy snacks." In the past, students have brought a box of snack to keep in their desks. This way they do not have to remember daily. We will not trade or share snack.

 The student will be given a verbal warning to correct their behavior. If the verbal warning does not stop the behavior, the student will be asked to move to the “Safe Seat.” The safe seat is a place where the student can process what happened. They are asked to fill out a Think Sheet. The Think Sheet asks them about the behavior that got them to the safe seat and what they can do to fix it. When the student is ready to conference with me, we discuss what happened and options to avoid the negative behavior. When the student conferences with me they will rejoin the class. Two Think Sheets in a week and the parents will receive a phone call.
